TECHNAL Enhances Window Hardware Offering with New Handle Functionality

While often a relatively small part of the overall specification, window hardware can have a significant impact on how a system performs in use. Factors such as security requirements, ventilation strategy, accessibility and visual appearance all influence hardware selection, particularly in projects where window operation forms an important part of the building's design.

In response to feedback from fabricators and specifiers, TECHNAL has introduced a number of new handle options that address practical requirements across a range of applications.

Lockable handle introduced for Tilt Before Turn Windows

A new lockable handles is now available, including Tilt Before Turn window configurations.

The addition provides the ability to fully lock the window when closed, offering an alternative where a lockable solution is required as part of the project's operational or security requirements. The development extends functionality within the existing system range without altering the familiar operation of the window.

To support long-term performance, the handle has been tested to 25,000 operating cycles, making it suitable for use in both residential and commercial environments where windows may be operated frequently throughout their service life.

Smaller vent sizes now possible with open-out handle option

TECHNAL has also introduced a new open-out handle designed for side-hung and top-hung applications.

The handle enables compatibility with vent sizes down to 350mm, extending the range of window configurations that can be accommodated within the system portfolio. This can be particularly useful where facade design, ventilation requirements or building constraints result in smaller opening elements being specified.

By supporting more compact vent dimensions, the new handle provides additional flexibility without requiring a departure from the established system design.

Reduced Rose offers a more discreet appearance

Alongside the functional enhancements, a reduced rose handle has been added to the range.

The revised design reduces the visible dimensions of the handle base, creating a cleaner transition between the hardware and the frame. While the change is subtle, it reflects a growing preference for simplified detailing and a more integrated appearance within contemporary aluminium systems.

For projects where attention to visual consistency is important, the reduced rose option provides an alternative to standard handle configurations while maintaining the same operational performance.

Additional choice at the point of specification

The latest hardware developments provide greater choice across the TECHNAL window range, allowing specifiers and fabricators to select solutions that more closely align with project-specific requirements.

Whether addressing the need for lockable operation, accommodating smaller opening vents or achieving a more discreet hardware appearance, the new handle options broaden the range of solutions available without changing the core performance characteristics of the systems themselves.
