Environmental Certifications and Legislations
Recognised and independently certified declarations allow us to target sustainable projects.

Low Carbon Aluminium, Verified Performance. Designed for a Circular Built Environment.
As part of Hydro, a global leader in low-carbon aluminium and circular manufacturing, TECHNAL UK & Ireland delivers facade, window, and door systems designed to help architects, contractors, developers and fabricators meet the UK and Ireland's evolving environmental expectations.
Our approach is grounded in verified data, third-party certification, and transparent lifecycle reporting, ensuring compliance with national legislation while supporting global leading sustainability frameworks.

UK & Ireland Environmental Legislation and Policy Drivers
Building Regulations - Part L (England, Wales) & Section 6 (Scotland)
Part L and Section 6 set clear expectations for reducing operational energy use by improving the performance of the building fabric. TECHNAL supports compliance with these requirements through high-performance aluminium window, door and facade systems that are engineered for exceptional thermal efficiency, air and water tightness and long-term durability.
Future Homes Standard (England) 2025
The Future Homes Standard is set to transform the performance of new UK homes by requiring a 75-80% reduction in operational carbon emissions compared with current standards. TECHNAL contributes to these ambitions by providing facade solutions that deliver robust thermal performance and support the fabric-first principles central to the Future Homes Standard. With Hydro CIRCAL® 75R offered as standard - a low-carbon aluminium made with at least 75% recycled end-of-life scrap - TECHNAL helps project teams significantly reduce embodied carbon (around 80% when compared with the European average for primary aluminium production) while achieving the levels of insulation and environmental control required for next-generation housing.
UK Net Zero 2050 & Ireland Climate Action Plan
Both the UK's Net Zero 2050 target and Ireland's Climate Action Plan commit the construction sector to deep reductions in whole-life carbon, with a focus on material efficiency, circularity and verifiable carbon reporting. TECHNAL actively supports these ambitions by supplying systems manufactured using Hydro CIRCAL®. Our products are designed for long lifespans, high recyclability and ease of disassembly, helping project teams address embodied carbon reductions while maintaining architectural performance. Combined with project-specific EPD's, recycled content declarations and traceability through tools such as GeniusID, TECHNAL provides the transparency needed to support credible net-zero pathways.
Waste & Circular Economy Regulations
Across the UK and Ireland, legislation is increasingly focused on reducing construction waste and maximising the reuse and recycling of materials. TECHNAL has established UK-based closed-loop aluminium recovery process that enables facades, window and doors at end-of-life to be dismantled, collected, sorted, remelted and re-extruded into new aluminium building systems. This approach helps keep valuable aluminium within the construction sector and prevents downcycling or landfill disposal. By designing products that can easily be disassembled and working with partners specialising in material reuse, TECHNAL supports clients, architects and contractors in meeting circular economy objectives while demonstrating responsible material stewardship.
