Craig Simms promoted to Pre-Construction Director at TECHNAL
Strengthening pre-construction through earlier engagement and collaboration
TECHNAL has promoted Craig Simms to the newly created position of Pre-Construction Director, effective 1 November 2026.
Craig steps into the role from his position as National Specification Manager at TECHNAL, bringing his existing knowledge of the business, its customers and the specification landscape to this next stage in his career.
As Pre-Construction Director, Craig will lead TECHNAL’s approach to pre-construction, with a particular focus on strengthening early engagement with customers, architects and main contractor partners.
Building on TECHNAL’s existing specification and technical capabilities, Craig will work to bring teams and expertise together earlier in the project lifecycle. This will support greater collaboration during the early stages of projects, helping project teams explore requirements and identify the right solutions from the outset.
Commenting on his promotion, Craig said:
I'm delighted to have been appointed Pre-Construction Director at Technal and would like to thank Managing Director Allan Barr for his continued support and confidence in me. I look forward to building on the strong foundations already in place, further strengthening our technical capabilities, and continuing to deliver value for our customers, architects and main contractor partners through early engagement, collaboration and innovation.
As part of his new role, Craig will also join TECHNAL’s Extended Management Team.

By bringing together technical expertise, specification support and collaborative working, TECHNAL aims to help customers and project partners achieve the best possible outcomes.
