Palmers Green High School, London
A Summer Upgrade with TECHNAL
Palmers Green High School undertook a fast-track summer refurbishment to create a brighter, more contemporary learning environment within a demanding seven-week programme. Working with Levitt Bernstein and fabricator 3D Aluminium, TECHNAL supported the delivery of a high-performance facade using SOLEAL Next 75 windows, TENTAL 50 curtain walling and Stormframe STII doors. Bespoke detailing, including a 200 mm feature cap and integrated ceramic glass panel, was realised through close technical collaboration, while the use of Hydro CIRCAL® aluminium helped reduce embodied carbon and supports the school's long-term sustainability goals.

Palmers Green High School, an independent girls' school in North London, set out to modernise part of its estate during the summer break - an ambitious programme with only seven weeks between terms. The brief called for a brighter, more contemporary learning environment.
Levitt Bernstein selected TECHNAL aluminium systems for their architectural quality, design flexibility and sustainability credentials. Fabricator partner 3D Aluminium was appointed to deliver the scheme with precision and speed, supported throughout by the TECHNAL technical team.
Precision Engineering and Technical Collaboration
Matt Lazenby and the TECHNAL technical team were fantastic. Their advice on the feature cap and detailing made a complex design achievable within the timeframe. Having that level of support really takes the pressure off.
The specification combined SOLEAL Next 75 windows, TENTAL 50 curtain walling and Stormframe STII doors, creating a cohesive , high-performance envelope. The design introduced a bespoke 200 mm feature cap applied to alternate mullions, along with an integrated ceramic glass panel within the main curtain wall screen - details that demanded meticulous planning and tailored technical input.

Fast, reliable lead times from TECHNAL ensured all systems were delivered to schedule, enabling fabrication and installation to progress seamlessly and meet the school's critical deadline.
A modernised campus with long-term value
The new windows and doors have completely transformed the building. The quality of craftsmanship is exceptional, and the whole process was managed professionally. We're delighted with the outcome.
The completed building offers a step change in daylight, comfort and visual quality. The use of Hydro CIRCAL® low-carbon aluminium, made with a minimum of 75% recycled post-consumer scrap, supports the school's environmental goals and significantly reduces embodied carbon in the facade.

We aim to support fabricators and designers wherever possible. This project shows how collaboration and technical expertise can deliver outstanding results under challenging timelines.
A sustainable transformation delivered on time
Palmers Green High School now benefits from improved aesthetics, enhanced thermal performance and long-lasting durability. The project demonstrates how thoughtful design and close collaboration between TECHNAL, architects, and fabrication partners can deliver exceptional architecture - even within a demanding summer programme.
