"La ScalA seeks to combine urban integration, design quality and affordable housing “. This is how the architects, Marina del Mármol, Mauro Bravo (MARMOLBRAVO) Miguel Herráiz and Daniel Bergman (MADhel) describe this building project.
The selection of a sustainable façade system from architectural aluminium specialist TECHNAL satisfies the requirement to deliver a sustainable and energy efficient building for the University of Bath’s Institute for Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS) – a new, world-class automotive propulsion research facility in Bristol, constructed to achieve BREEAM Very Good standard.
The contemporary, environmental, and elegant architecture of the building is favored with TECHNAL® GEODE curtain walls and SOLEAL doors and windows. The peristyle façade integrates into the wooden framework as TECHNAL® aluminium frames allow for optimal light entry and fine enhancement of the new hall.
Putting sustainable construction at its core, the first Enterprise Zone office development at Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park (LUSEP) features TECHNAL aluminium curtain walling made from Hydro CIRCAL® , which uses a minimum of 75% post-consumer recycled aluminium. The façade contributes to reduce the building’s carbon footprint and its BREEAM Very Good rating. The TECHNAL solutions used: GEODE curtain wall, SOLEAL 65 windows.
The OECO ARCHITECTES has imagined a volumetric building in an heterogeneous urban context in the city. The architecture agency chose to use aluminium solutions from TECHNAL. Their natural aluminium effect is gently combined with the beige concrete and the wooden underside. The TECHNAL solutions used: GEODE curtain walls, AMBIAL XXL folding doors, SOLEAL windows, sliders and doors.
The building has been conceived from the outset in close relationship with its users. The owners, four couples of friends, organized themselves as a community of neighbors to agree on all the decisions of the projects, a habitat that is committed to architectural quality, passive design and sustainability. The TECHNAL solutions used: LUMEAL slider, SOLEAL 65 windows and GEODE curtain walls.
“The project is a dream project for any architect, and at the same time, it is challenging because of its location, surrounding, and integration with nature” says Joe Tabet.
With less is more in mind and unlimited views from all angles, this is how HZ.MB managed to balance beauty and functionality while creating an uninterrupted connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
