Navarre (Spain)
A bioclimatic envelope

The mapping services company Tracasa has a new headquarters, which was built using cutting edge architectural technologies in terms of solar energy and its bioclimatic envelope. The building resembles a skyscraper that has been turned on its side with open North and South faces.

The facades were constructed using the GÉODE MX horizontal trame curtain wall with mullions with an inner sight line width of 52 mm to create remarkably delicate lines.

Natural light entry is maximised by the passage of indirect light through the North facade, creating comfort for users, and by the incorporation of a vertical brise-soleil system created using safety glass that reflects the light to limit the impact of solar radiation.

This glazed brise-soleil system keeps the premises warm in winter, by taking advantage of the sun's rays, and cool in summer, by ensuring that the air arriving in the shade of this system enters the building with a temperature cooler than the outside air temperature. A bioclimatic system can notably reduce energy consumption due to less need for air conditioning.

Technal takes its place
among the market leaders in Argentina
Just three years following its establishment in Argentina, the Technal brand is set to become one of the country's leaders in the aluminium construction systems market.

Francis Doutre, Development Manager and Fabian Alvarez, sales Manager for Argentina, tell us how the brand achieved this: "after introducing the Technal brand to the Greater Buenos Aires region, the brand expanded both economically and geographically from North to South, incorporating the country's main business centres of Tucuman, Cordoba, Rosario, Buenos Aires, La Plata, Mar del Plata and Comodoro Rivadavia. Technal's products have featured in some of the most emblematic structures over the last few years."

Decision makers, architects, consultants, metal builders, promoters and private customers now recognise Technal as a brand that sells quality products adapted to their high-end design projects.

  The VIPCO Tower
in Haiphong (Vietnam)
Transparency and fluidity

The VIPCO tower is a 25-storey building that will house the headquarters of VIPCO (Vietnam Petroleum Transport Joint Stock Company) in addition to a shopping centre and office space for rent.

VIPCO

Architect: UBIK. Mr. Brice Belian / Metal builder: Euro Window

Brice Belian (UBIK Architects), who designed this tower located in a district in which no building exceeds 10 floors, explains that he designed "a simple geometric and transparent shape that contrasts with the neo-classical style of the surrounding buildings. Given its size, the VIPCO building dominates Haiphong old town. It was important that the investor agreed to use a quality brand for the building's envelope and Technal was chosen. The relationship between UBIK Architects and Technal's technical team was very fruitful. Together, we found the perfect solution to meet our objective of creating a smooth and transparent facade compliant with the original concept whilst reducing manufacturing costs to make the project successful.""

The facade is a Unitized Technal with a horizontal trame. This technology optimises the work and its costs as the facade (7000 sqm) will be created by installing panels manufactured and glazed in the workshop on site.
