Technal celebrates 50 years in the business

… An important milestone for some of our customers who year after year have established and gradually built up their metal builder with support from our brand.

… An important milestone also for many architects around the world who have designed their projects using our products for a number of decades.

… For others, this is their chance to get to know us. I am thinking in particular about all new partners with whom we will conquer new markets for Technal in Asia, the Middle-East, Africa, America, and Oceania, a world away from Toulouse, where the Technal story first began.

… Technal is a brand of the future, committed to taking up the challenges of the future by offering innovative architectural solutions that comply with sustainable development requirements.

I have the privilege and responsibility today of developing Technal outside of Europe.
I am proud of what we have already achieved together and confident about the future and taking Technal to new heights with your help.

50 years of products
and services adapted
to each world region

The company Alusud, created in Toulouse (France) by André Bos in 1960, invented the Technal aluminium constructive system in 1963. Simple and quick to install, the system appealed to manufacturers in France and the rest of Europe, from Belgium and Switzerland to Portugal and Greece, via Spain and Italy.

Ten years later, André Bos formed Technal International to stabilise these markets and to expand into the United Kingdom and other continents.

During the 1980’s, Technal marketed its ranges and completed some stunning architectural projects in Africa, the Caribbean and on the Indian Ocean islands.

Technal Export was established in 1989 to manage Technal licensed companies in Chile, Greece, Lebanon, Turkey and other countries. Technal Export also creates separate legal entities and forms partnerships with local players.

As early as 1967, Alusud managers travelled the roads of Greece in a 6m minibus equipped with a mini show-room and slide show providing training on the manufacture of frames and the drawing up of estimates.

In 1989, the Caribbean Islands were hit by the most violent tropical cyclone in their history, cyclone Hugo. The Technal paracyclonic sliding systems withstood the storm.

Map
Hydro Building Systems International is developing new markets across the globe, either by creating distinct business units or by forming partnerships with local players.

1995 saw the creation of Technal Building Products in Brunei, later renamed HBS South East Asia. Its most significant project to date is Marina Bay Sands in Singapore (cf Technal News n°2).

HBS Argentina started up in 2008 with a stock of versatile systems (profiles and accessories) used to create windows, doors, curtain walls, brise-soleils and balustrades. HBS Argentina took part in reference projects such as the Dome of the Bicentenary Cultural Centre or the PROA foundation (cf Technal News n°1).

Created in June 2008, HBS North Africa, based in Casablanca (Morocco), provides services to Technal customers in the Maghreb region (cf Technal News n°3).

The new HBS India headquarters to open soon!
The Technal brand has a good reputation in India and is rapidly developing in a fast-growing market.
