Hydro Building Systems has opened a new and highly sustainable technical centre for the research, development and testing of its Technal brand of aluminium façade products.
The state-of-the-art facilities have already been used to carry out full-scale testing for Technal’s latest innovation – the revolutionary MODAL low rise glazing system which was developed in the UK and was the first product to be tested in the new centre.
Calthorpe House is one of a small number of buildings in the Midlands to achieve a BREEAM (2006) ‘excellent’ rating. This highly sustainable landmark office scheme features the latest curtain walling from architectural aluminium specialists, Technal.
Designed by Webb Gray & Partners for developers Calthorpe Estates, and constructed by BAM, the £40m building is also the first application of a new adaptation of Technal’s MX curtain walling system.
