Architectural aluminium specialist, Technal, has launched GXi – a new sliding window and balcony door, which offers a wealth of innovative design features and options for comfort, safety, visual appeal and long-term durability.

GXi is an elegant, robust and high specification glazing solution, developed by Technal for prestige office and apartment schemes.  The system, which has been rigorously tested to 20,000 open/close cycles, benefits from high quality components and advanced manufacturing techniques to ensure fabrication quality, precise installation and continued performance to specification.

Clean, narrow 41mm sight lines maximise light penetration and a 9mm flush polyamide thermal break ensures the system performs in line with the revised Building Regulations.

Profiles can be flat-faced for a crisp appearance, or curved to add a stylish accent to the façade treatment, and there is the option of single or dual colours for further design flexibility.

Robust frames, durable hardware, structural accuracy and a quality, unobtrusive track and roller system combine for low maintenance, superior reliability and a smooth sliding operation, even with the heaviest leaf sizes.

Configurations range from a simple two-leaf system to a multi-panel sliding patio door or window on two tracks, and there is a choice of window or door sizes to suit individual project requirements.

The system can be inserted into curtain walling, making it ideal for penthouse situations, and fixings and mountings are concealed for an improved appearance.

GXi will accommodate 20 to 26mm glazing units and uses a 52mm module, which is fully compatible with Technal’s FXi52 casement window, allowing composite configurations.
